Ludacris is once again making waves in the world of hip hop. DTP's head honcho first caught the attention of many when a reference track for Dr. Dre's long-awaited and delayed project, "Detox" slipped onto several hip-hop blog sites.
"O.G.'s Theme," which highlights Luda rapping from Dr. Dre's perspective since it's obviously a reference track, ignited several questions in regards to the critically acclaimed set: is Ludacris featured on the album and to how many more records did the rapper/actor actually contribute?
Luda wasted no time in addressing the aforementioned issues when he spoke with Rap-Up.com. "It was supposed to be for "Detox," but I don't know since it got leaked," the Atlanta native said of 'O.G.'s Theme.' "I don't know if it's gonna get used. It was for Dr. Dre. I wrote it for Dre. I wrote a couple records and that was one of them."
Aside from contributing to Dre's masterpiece-in-the-making, Luda has a couple of projects of his own he's tampering with. First up to bat is his "Battle of the Sexes" joint-LP with DTP labelmate, Shawnna. The project, which is scheduled to hit shelves later this year, will pit Luda's lyrical abilities against Shawnna's for the hip-hop community to enjoy.
As for Ludacris' eighth solo set, he's pretty much in the pre-stages of the project. In fact, Luda was forced to spill the beans about his new composition since several rumors began to circulate that the project was titled "Cineplex."
"It must be the biggest rumor in the world because you're like the fifth person who asked me about that," Luda told Rap-Up.com of the album's false moniker. "I never remotely said anything about something called "Cineplex." Dead that s***. It's 'Ludaversal'."
"Ludaversal" is slated for a 2010 release.
